I chose this artist because of the colors he uses. I like the works he made in the 60's and 70's the most. He is also famous for photographic collages.

Andre Kertesz

I enjoy photography and find Kertesz' photographs captivating and intriguing. Firstly, in black and white pictures, the idea, image, and objects captured are more important to this artist than
color and other mediums of art. The simplicity of the photos draws more attention to what he is taking a picture of. This makes his artwork almost errie and mysterious. I feel that the simpler the picture, the more if speaks to its audience.

Fayeq Oweis

This is the official website of Fayeq Oweis,an Arab American artist,who basically works with Arabic/Islamic calligraphy. He brings a lot of geometry into all his themes (using calligraphy)which is what I hope to achieve through my own portfolio. What's interesting about him is that though hardly anyone who sees his work knows the meaning of the words he's written and yet one can tell what culture or theme the picture/painting is based on, which I think as an artist can be extremely hard to do. Enjoy.

Kesha Bruce

I chose this video because I really like how Kesha uses quick drawings as a way to stay inspired and active. I also like how she started with the simple image of a crown and has generated many drawings from that one idea.

William Kentridge

This drawn animation by William Kentridge shows how innovative you can be with the simple materials of paper and charcoal. I like how the erased lines remain as a "memory" of the drawing process. This is a good example of process and concept working well together in the final product of a video animation using drawing and sound.
