  1. Gojen I think the various patterns and drawings that you incorporated in your art pieces makes it really interesting. You seem to stick with one shade of color which differentiates your art pieces, somewhat relieving mixed emotions. For instance, the first art piece consists of dark shades, while on the other hand the second piece consists of light shades such as the pink you used on the majority of the paper. Just by observing the first piece it clearly gives a sense of loneliness in vase area. The setting where the girl is playing the music obviously does not have any sense of life. The focus of the piece is on the violinist and the violinist alone. However, the second piece when I look at it, although the girl is the only present living thing in the picture, the color pink and the various ‘curls’ gives sense of life and joy. The surrounding building behind the girl also adds to the theme. I think the division between the two pieces is very clear and the distinctive colors you used is commendable. However, I think there are various areas in which you could improve in. You could improve your first piece by coloring the sky fully. It looks fine the way it is now, but the odd ‘light’ circles in the middle of the strong orange doesn’t seem to meld together. Color the whole sky in the background or make a clear distinction in the shading. In your second piece I feel you could maybe color the guitar, the buildings, the earth or the girl to add more colors. The color pink is great, but there seems to be too much pencil shading which makes it a little dull. Overall, great job Gojen!
