Tina: Concentration Nugget-October

  1. Hey Tina, wonderful pictures there!
    I really likethem.
Your first peice, (the one with the fish) is very innovative. I love how you used a fish and not a human face for your concentration. I like the way you work away from the stereotypes. When you think of faces you obviously imagine a human face but yours has the "element of surprise". HOwever, i thik that you could have made the gills of the fish a tad bit darker so that it would be more prominent.I think it would have been better. Theangle that you worked with, makes the picture look 10times more interesting. Also the picture has a grey-ish blue-ish tint to ot which gives the photograph a very vintage, cold foggy day near the lake kind of feel. I really like it.
The seconf peice reminds me a lot of Sally Mann's work whihch is good because shes one of my favourite artists. What happened to the little girl? Is shehurt? She has a very odd expression on her face for someone whos hurt. I like it. However i think her face could have been a little more centrally placed and framed with her hair. I think it would have made the picture look better than it already is.
Overall, i say great work Tina!
Only you can come up with good stuff like this.
I would put these photographs up in my room in a frame thats how much i like your work. YOu definitely have skills there Keep up the good work!!
