Both pieces are great in their own way. The use of traditional Naga patterns and symbols make them both unique and interesting.
The First piece is reminiscent of Gustav Klimpt’s works. To build patterns around the hugging couple was a good idea. The characters are distinctly Naga as are the patterns and both are foreign and very interesting to me. The general look of the piece is a little sketchy which is probably because of rushing to make the dead line. Using a complementary color theme for the patterns would make them stand out better and maybe using color pencil or water color to color in the hugging characters would make for a more complete looking piece. The second piece is a portrait. The shield, spear, hat and robe all add up to expressing the person as much as or even more so than the expression on the face. The details that you’ve picked seem important to properly express a Naga warrior and are interesting to look at for me. Only suggestion would be, maybe color the background more distinctly so that the subject (the warrior) stands out better in front of it. Again, maybe a color complementary to the subjects clothing color would serve well. Nonetheless, they’re great to look at.
