Aditee: Melody

WORD:Melody;
I find music very fascinating as it is an art form in itself. Music captures all emotions, in a way that no actions, or words can. It is an easy way to express emotions as well. So, I chose melody as my concentration to try and capture the peace and calm one feels when he/ she is engrossed in music.

  1. I really like the first photograph in this concentration because I feel that it captures more than just the mere image. The blue tint to the photograph adds a sense of nostaliga and "feeling" to the overall image. The perspective of the first image is also quite interesting. It takes the viewer up close and personal to the subject, in this case, the musician and the intstrument; it personalizes the image so to say.

    The second image for me is not as strong as that of the first. I like the color in the image as it too incorporates the idea of nostalgia and adds a "vintage" touch. I would recommend that even though it is a very good photograph, you might want to try taking the image from different angles as this adds more interest to the photograph. You can zoom up real close and blur the back or take it from a side angle instead of straight on; just like the first image!

    Overall, I like the whole idea of the concentration and am excited to see more!

  2. I love the first photograph. Its very well taken and aesthetically strong. It draws the viewer in and I like the way its edited.

    I feel that the second photograph does not really fit with your concentration. It seems like its more about pop culture today than about music.The models too feel kind of stiff and too orchestrated. My suggestion would be to focus on commonplace melody...like the kind in the first picture..which seems natural and fresh. Keep taking lots of photos, because you're bound to come across something brilliant. Good luck!

  3. interesting pictures there. :) nice way of representing the same theme - melody - through different people. Perhaps the guitar, in the second picture, should be more obvious and focused on since it represents your theme. It seems to be a side object with the girls as the focus. But other than that, nice work! :)
